AEROBIC

Adults over 55 should perform a moderate-intensity aerobic activity for a minimum of 30 minutes a day, 5 days a week. We want you to begin at that level and build to one hour a day, 7 days a week.

What is “moderate intensity aerobic” activity? A brisk walk, a slow jog, a steady paced bike ride, laps in a pool, an hour of singles tennis, 9 holes of golf, WALKING, no cart!

Another great aerobic exercise that really combines strength with cardio is stair climbing. Find a set of steps in your neighborhood that has at least 50 steps. Go at your own pace until you build stamina, and then increase the number of times you repeat.

Our daily videos will help motivate you to "just go out the door", and will offer a variety of simple, consistent, and fun ways to include aerobic exercise in your daily life.
